Amidst vaious appehensions, Pehla kadam was launched on 24th January, 2010. The event left us with some good and bad memories. But most importantly, the lesson for us was, just move on, there are people in society who appeciate good work. have to leave now will continue ..........

After waiting for so many days, finally Pehla kadam is going to be launched on 24th of January at Hotel Windsor, patna. Hoping fot hon'ble Agriculture minister, Bihar accompanied with joint secretary, agriculture. Mr. Arvind pandey, DIG, Mr. D.M. Diwakar, Director , A N Sinha institute of social sciences and senior agriculture scientists.

its going to be too late in launching the proposed agri portal. but hope everything goes fine and soon it will be launched with a bang.

Documenty on bihar agrarian Scenario

Another initiative of Pehla kadam, A documentry on the curent agrarian scenario of Bihar is being shoot at the locations of Koshi and mithila region, This documenty will feature thoughts of renowned farmers practicing unique technologies, government officials, company personnals,youth and obviously the common mass. I hope it will povide a better insight of the current system of agriculture in the state and will putforth the reality.

Bihar, has been always blamed for being very slow on the track of development, But this documentry will force the so called intellectual class to think over once again. Bihar, 2nd largest producer of pulses, 3rd largest in vegetables, 1st in mango and litchi and 3rd in maize poduction do need some appreciation. hope in coming days, we will be a bit more optimistic and will praise the agrarian society for their effort.

Pehla kadam web site

As the part of Pehla kadam initative, we are in the process of developing the web site for the same. The idea behind this is to provide a platform for knowledge sharing among the farmers, students, company professionals, government officials and the experts of the sector. It will comprise of sections like government policies for agriculture which will discuss agricultural policies, government programmes, rural credit and insurance. Agriculture information about the package of practices, allied agricultural activities, machinaries, fertilizers, sprayers,livestock rearing, medicinal and aromatic plants etc. will also be provided. Crop protection section will includent recent technologies and technicals for pests and disease management.
Farmers will be benefitted from the sections of agromet advisory which will provide suggestions for agricultural practices to be performed according to prevailing agro-meterological conditions. Mandi prices will provide the updated price list for various outputs in nearby mandis. on line weather report will help them to schedule their cultivation practices and a soil map will also be drafted on the basis of soil tests reports of farmers of various region.

The section, featured articles ( my favorite) will entertain articles from all parts of the country related to current issues affecting rural mass.

Inaugration of the agri portal has been postponed due to the engagement of honorable guests. Hope it will provide us some more time to give a splendid finishing touch to the launch.
